Split PDF pages in half

One scan, two book pages? They become two clean single pages.

How can I check that nothing is uploaded?

Your files are processed in this browser tab. This page has no function that sends files to a server, and its security rules (Content Security Policy) forbid connections to other servers.

Check it yourself: load this page, then switch on flight mode or disconnect Wi-Fi and run the tool. It still works – because everything happens on your device.

Good to know

How it works – step by step
  1. Choose a PDF

Pick the scan with book spreads or two pages per sheet.

  2. Choose the direction

Left | right for books, top | bottom for pages printed one above the other. The preview shows where the cut goes. The cover can stay whole.

  3. Split and save

Tap “Split pages” and download the PDF with single pages.

Why FaLe?
  • Gutter found automatically

If the book lay slightly off on the scanner, the middle is rarely exactly in the middle. The tool looks for the light strip between the pages.

  • Cover stays whole

First and last page can stay unsplit. If you like, only landscape pages are split and portrait pages stay as they are.

  • Right to left, too

For books read from right to left, the right half comes first.

  • No quality loss

Nothing is recalculated: each half shows the original content, text stays searchable.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?

No. Splitting happens in your browser and your scan never leaves your device.

Does the image quality get worse?

No. Each half shows part of the original page, nothing is recalculated or compressed. That’s also why text stays searchable.

Does the file double in size?

No. Both halves point to the same content, so the file hardly grows.

What about pages that aren’t spreads?

With “Only split suitable pages”, left | right only splits landscape pages and top | bottom only portrait pages. All others stay whole.

The automatic gutter is off – what now?

Turn off “Find the gutter automatically” to split exactly in the middle. In the preview you can flip through the pages with the arrows and see every cut.
