Convert PDF to Markdown

Turn a PDF into structured Markdown – for notes, wikis or AI chats.

How can I check that nothing is uploaded?

Your files are processed in this browser tab. This page has no function that sends files to a server, and its security rules (Content Security Policy) forbid connections to other servers.

Check it yourself: load this page, then switch on flight mode or disconnect Wi-Fi and run the tool. It still works – because everything happens on your device.

Good to know

How it works – step by step
  1. Choose a PDF

Pick one or more PDFs with real text – reports, manuals or lecture notes, for example.

  2. Check the settings

Choose the pages, and whether headers and footers are left out and pages are separated by a rule.

  3. Copy or save

Check the result in the preview, copy it with one tap or save it as an MD file.

Why FaLe?
  • Structure is kept

Larger type becomes a heading, bullet points become lists, aligned columns become Markdown tables.

  • Emphasis

Bold and italic words are kept as **bold** and *italic*.

  • Clean reading flow

Two-column pages are read column by column, repeating page numbers are dropped.

  • No upload

The conversion runs in your browser. Your PDF stays on your device.

Frequently asked questions
What is Markdown good for?

Markdown is plain text with a few characters for structure, like # for headings. Note apps, wikis and AI chats understand it directly.

Are images included?

No, Markdown files contain only text. Get the images with “Extract images from PDF”.

How accurately are headings detected?

Headings are recognised by larger or bold type compared with the body text. With very unusual layouts, a heading may come out as a normal paragraph.

What about scanned PDFs?

Scans contain no text, only images. That needs text recognition (OCR), for example in the FaLe PDF app.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
