How it works – step by step

Pick a PDF with real text, for example a letter, a report or a contract.
Choose the type
“Editable” keeps text, headings, lists, tables and images. “Exact look” places every page as a picture – looks exactly the same but can’t be edited.
Save the Word file
Check the detected structure in the preview, then download the DOCX file or share it straight from your phone.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Word document look exactly like the PDF?
With “Editable” the layout is simplified: text flows in paragraphs so you can edit it. Simple documents come across very well, complex layouts with text boxes or overlapping elements not always. If you need the exact look, choose “Exact look”.
What about scanned PDFs?
Scans contain no text, only images. Such pages are inserted as pictures. To edit their text you need text recognition (OCR) – the FaLe PDF app does that offline on your device.
Are tables kept?
Yes, when the columns in the PDF are cleanly aligned. Merged cells and deeply nested tables may come out simplified.
Which programs open the file?
Any program that reads DOCX files – on a computer, in the browser or in office apps on your phone.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is read in your browser and the Word document is created there.
