How can I check that nothing is uploaded?

Your files are processed in this browser tab. This page has no function that sends files to a server, and its security rules (Content Security Policy) forbid connections to other servers.

Check it yourself: load this page, then switch on flight mode or disconnect Wi-Fi and run the tool. It still works – because everything happens on your device.

Good to know

How it works – step by step
  1. Pick the direction

Net → gross to add VAT, gross → net to remove it, or “From the tax” when only the VAT amount is known.

  2. Enter rate and amount

Choose a preset or your own rate and type the amount – comma or point both work.

  3. Use the result

Net, VAT and gross appear right away with the calculation. Tap the copy icon to take a value.

Why FaLe?
  • Exact to the cent

VAT is always gross minus net – so the three amounts always add up, with no stray rounding cent.

  • Rounding difference shown

With several items the calculator shows whether rounding per item or on the total differs by a cent – the most common reason for invoice queries.

  • Germany, Austria, Switzerland

    19 % and 7 %, Austria's 20, 13 and 10 %, Switzerland's 8.1, 3.8 and 2.6 % – or any rate you need.

  • No ads, no cookies

No banners, no tracking. After the first visit the page even works offline.

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove VAT from a price?

Divide the gross amount by 1 plus the rate, e.g. by 1.19 for 19 %. That gives the net amount; the difference to gross is the VAT. Example: 119 ÷ 1.19 = 100 net, 19 VAT.

Why isn't 19 % of the gross price the VAT?

Because the 19 % is added to the net amount. Within the gross amount the VAT is only 19/119, about 15.97 %.

Should VAT be rounded per item or on the total?

Both are allowed; what matters is using one method consistently. With several items the calculator shows whether, and by how much, the two differ.

Which rates are built in?

Germany 19 % and 7 %, Austria 20 %, 13 % and 10 %, Switzerland 8.1 %, 3.8 % and 2.6 %, plus 0 % and any rate you enter yourself.
