Compress images
Make photos smaller in KB – for e-mail, forms and messages. With a before/after comparison.

How can I check that nothing is uploaded?
Your files are processed in this browser tab. This page has no function that sends files to a server, and its security rules (Content Security Policy) forbid connections to other servers.
Check it yourself: load this page, then switch on flight mode or disconnect Wi-Fi and run the tool. It still works – because everything happens on your device.
Good to know
How it works – step by step
Choose images
Pick one or many photos from your gallery, take a photo or paste an image. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP are supported.
Set the strength
Choose a quality or enter a target size in KB, for example 500 KB for an upload form. Optionally limit the edge length or change the format. For exact pixel sizes, use “Resize image”.
Compare and share
Check the result with the before/after slider, then share it right away or download it – several images also as a ZIP.
Why FaLe?
Target size in KB
No guessing: enter a limit and FaLe finds the highest quality that fits below it. If that’s not enough, the image is scaled down carefully.
Before/after slider
See right away whether the difference is visible – with zoom for details. You can fine-tune the quality right in the result.
Location removed
Photos often contain GPS coordinates and camera data. They are removed by default when compressing, and the rotation stays correct.
Never larger than before
If an image is already compressed optimally, you get the original back instead of a larger file – and we tell you.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your device. After the first visit the tool even works offline.
How do I get an image under 200 KB or 1 MB?
Choose “To a target size” and enter the limit in KB (1 MB is about 1000 KB). FaLe tries qualities until the file fits. For very small targets the pixel size is reduced as well – this is noted below the result.
Which format is the smallest?
For photos, WebP is usually much smaller than JPG at the same quality. AVIF is often even smaller, but it’s only offered if your browser can save it, and not every app can open it. PNG is lossless and better for graphics with text or transparency.
Can I compress many photos at once?
Yes, without a limit. Images are processed one after another, so even phones with little memory handle 30 or more photos. At the end, download them all as a ZIP or share them.
What happens to the image information (EXIF)?
By default, location, camera, serial number and capture details are removed and the rotation is applied to the image itself. If you want to keep the data, switch the option off – for JPG it is then carried over.
Will my photo get blurry?
From a quality of about 70 % you usually can’t see a difference on a phone or screen. Check it yourself with the comparison slider and zoom.
