Convert HEIC to PNG

Save iPhone photos (HEIC) losslessly as PNG – in browsers that can open HEIC.

How can I check that nothing is uploaded?

Your files are processed in this browser tab. This page has no function that sends files to a server, and its security rules (Content Security Policy) forbid connections to other servers.

Check it yourself: load this page, then switch on flight mode or disconnect Wi-Fi and run the tool. It still works – because everything happens on your device.

Good to know

How it works – step by step
  1. Choose HEIC photos

Pick the photos. The preview shows right away whether your browser can open HEIC.

  2. Convert

Tap “Convert to PNG”. The photo’s rotation is applied.

  3. Save or share

Download the PNGs or share them – several also as a ZIP.

Why FaLe?
  • Lossless for editing

PNG stores every pixel without new compression – good if you still want to edit, cut out or print the photo.

  • Honest

We don’t ship our own HEIC decoder. If your browser can’t open HEIC, we tell you right away.

  • No upload

Your photos stay on your device. Location and camera data don’t go into the PNG.

Frequently asked questions
PNG or JPG – which should I choose?

PNG if you want to keep editing the photo and file size doesn’t matter. For sharing and sending, JPG is much smaller – use “HEIC to JPG” for that.

Why is the PNG so large?

HEIC is very efficient, PNG is lossless. A phone photo as PNG can easily be ten times the size of the HEIC file.

Which browsers does this work in?

In browsers that can open HEIC themselves – mainly Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Many other browsers can’t read HEIC. You’ll see this right after choosing.

My browser can’t open HEIC – what now?

Open the page in Safari, share the photo from the Photos app “as JPG”, or on the iPhone set Settings → Camera → Formats to “Most Compatible”.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser on your device.
